Nino Amato’s decades of civic engagement and policymaking have focused on improving people’s lives. He has a strong belief that government budgets are “moral documents” which must reflect the needs and priorities of its citizens, not those of special interest groups and paid lobbyists.  

 

That is Why Nino Amato is Running for Dane County Supervisor, District 15

 

  • Unlike his opponents, Nino Amato is the only candidate who has managed multi-million- and billion-dollar operational budgets as a former president of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board, as a member of the UW-System Board of Regents, and as a senior executive for a private traded energy service company.

 

  • Throughout Nino’s executive leadership roles, he has helped expand renewable energy solutions, which have reduced both Co2 Greenhouse Gases & So2 (Acid Rain) Emissions, which have improved the quality of the air we breathe and the water we drink. 

 

  • In helping our aging population, Nino’s leadership as President and CEO for the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging & Health Groups has protected the healthcare rights and dignity of Wisconsin’s 1.4 million elderly and people with disabilities, and has provided low-cost Rx Drugs for Wisconsin Seniors; and 

 

Nino Amato is committed to ensuring District 15 residents’ concerns and issues are heard on the Dane County Board, and not drowned out by self-serving special interest groups, who are responsible in part for Dane County’s $31 million-dollar structural budget deficit.

Leadership That Puts People 1st

Nino’s leadership has always centered on people, especially those most impacted by government policy. His experience spans health care, civil rights, voter accessibility, and legislative advocacy for Wisconsin’s 1.4 million elderly and people with disabilities.

  • Honorary Board Chair, Coalition of Wisconsin Aging & Health Groups (former President/CEO 2010-2022) CWAG is a statewide, nonprofit, legislative and legal advocacy organization that protects the rights and earned healthcare benefits of Wisconsin’s 1.4 million seniors and people with disabilities.

 

  • Member, WI. Election Commission, Voter Accessibility Advisory Committee. Improving voting accessibility, to ensure polling place access and absentee balloting for Wisconsin’s seniors and citizens with disabilities.

 

  • Chair, Smart Growth Madison-Dane County Advisory Board. SGMDC is a citizen-driven organization, united by a shared belief in government transparency and accountability – the foundation of smart growth. 

 

  • Former Senior Executive, Meriter Health Services & Meriter Hospital. Established the Centers of Excellence for Women’s Health & Complementary Medicine.

  • Former President & VP, Madison Equal Opportunities Commission Adjudicated discrimination cases and advanced racial and economic justice.
